Lesson 5

Surya Namaskar (Salute to the Sun): This is a Vinyasa—a series of postures put together in a flowing sequence. This series of movements dates back thousands of years. Since the sun radiates life, people would worship it by doing this series of movement. It has been introduced into the teaching of Hatha Yoga only in recent times. Recommendation: do even numbered rounds of the movement building up to twelve (12).

Benefits: this series of movements exercises and stretches every major muscle in the body and stimulates the Circulatory system.
